Thank you Charlotte for the Assessment Screen tool for Level 3 Mathematics. It is valuable in that it clearly shows what the students can do on their own, what they need to learn more about and it has highlighted misunderstandings and misconceptions they may have especially around fractions as a number. One student who is very clearly working within the top of level 3 told me that you can’t put fractions on a numberline because they are not numbers! Their views of both fractional and decimal numbers were identified as being the next steps in learning for my students. The assessment shows me as their teacher the ‘where to next’ journey.
