Students are learning to find a unit fraction of a number, a non-unit fraction of a number. Students are extending their knowledge of numbers to include rational numbers and think about their position on a number line.
- Fraction Race: Students follow the track and follow the instructions given. When they land on an instruction space, they are asked to find a unit fraction of a number with whole number answers.
- Fraction Wall: Students are asked to find a unit fraction of a number. They need to start with a brick at the bottom of the wall and have at least one brick on a row before they cover a brick on the next row.
- Fraction Bees: Students move around the track and find a non-unit fraction of a number. The range of answers is limited to 6, 8, 10 or 12
- Fraction Houses: Students move around the track and find the place for the rational number on the number line as either another name for a whole number or a position between two whole numbers.
